Toyota Tacoma TRD-Pro

Price: $37,615

The last of this generation of Tacoma dies in grace, wailing its tail in the sand dunes as the chunky tires claw through the terrain. Its an old school truck with old school muscle, which to some is more than enough. The prospect buyer of this Tacoma will enjoy a more hardcore pickup truck, so that is exactly the options I have gathered at even a lower price.

1. 2012 Suzuki Equator RMZ-Off Road Sport: $13,995

You probably forgot about this Suzuki, and that is also why its quite cool. The Suzuki is a rare truck, a truck you probably didn't know existed but its a good choice nevertheless. The mechanics come from the Nissan Frontier, but with a bit of Suzuki flair to it. This means, a 4.0 V6, 5 speed auto and Bilstein shocks, which I heard somewhere that are good. A true bargain at that price for something as rare as the RMZ.

2. 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha: $26,946

We all love bashing on Hummer. Its sort of our hobby, but the last H3's weren't uncuttable by any means and even less with the V8. This chunkier Silverado has more attitude to boast and a similar aftermarket following form which you can make your truck even more agile. It is the most cumbersome of the group, but also a bit of an oddball that shouldn't be left unnoticed.

3. 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor: $35,170

It wouldn't be a list of off-road prepped truck if the Raptor wasn't included. This massive cash cow for Ford has demonstrated that when you focus a product to do one task brilliantly, the results are even better. Whoever thought of the Raptor first deserves a prize. This example is a 2011 which means it will have the monstrous 6.2L V8, slight cosmetic touches but even more attitude. As the value of these things stay high finding one in the right spec might be a challenge, but absolutely worth it when you make those 8 cylinders growl to tremble cacti.
